Ole Miss to Give Fans Chance to Golf the Vaught

Year Of The Fan Event Set for Sunday Afternoon, Sept. 23

OXFORD, Miss. – With 2018 being the Year Of The Fan, Ole Miss Athletics will be hosting another interactive event for Rebel Nation. Hole in One at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will give Ole Miss fans a chance to hit golf balls on Hollingsworth Field, the home of Ole Miss Football.

The free event will take place Sunday afternoon, Sept. 23, from 2-4 p.m. As part of the Ole Miss Year of the Fan, children in grades 8 or below, Ole Miss students, and adults over the age of 22 will have an opportunity to hit shots at various targets on the field for a chance to earn prizes.

All who show up and participate will receive a free t-shirt and golf tees. Prizes for hitting the targets range from Rebel Bucks, which can be used at Ole Miss Athletics concession stands, to game-worn football jerseys. Those who hit the smallest target will win two tickets to the Ole Miss-ULM football game (Oct. 6) and automatically entered into a drawing to win two season tickets for the 2019 Ole Miss Football campaign.

Hole in One at Vaught-Hemingway is one of many special events Ole Miss has planned in 2018 for the Year of the Fan, as the athletics department says a yearlong “thank you” to Rebel Nation for its devotion. Events that have already taken place include Fan Pro Day, Honorary Coach, Fantasy Radio and free facility tours.
